Deleting Your Data
Last updated: 2026-08-25
Kinoku is privacy-first: no Kinoku server stores your primary training history by default, so deleting that record is usually an in-app action with no account or server ticket. Eligible main-app data and files may be copied by Android system backup to your Google account. This page lists those local controls and the optional server-side flows that may need an in-app action or privacy request.
Quick summary
- Everything local at once: uninstall Kinoku, or use Android's app storage controls to clear Kinoku's local storage. Leave Social Bets first if you want your server-side bet presence removed before you uninstall.
- Cycle / period / pregnancy data: Profile → Wellness → Delete all cycle data. Dedicated records never reach Kinoku's servers. The action also removes generated cycle insights and private one-time prompt state, records a day-level Health Connect re-import cutoff, and resets Pregnancy or TTC mode to Tracking.
- Social Bets (Firebase/Firestore): Social Bets is disabled in the current release. If you have legacy shared-bet data from an earlier enabled build, use the in-app data-rights control if present or email privacy@kinoku.app.
- No app control available: email privacy@kinoku.app. This is the backup path for Social Bets, gift-code, promo-access, or diagnostics requests that the in-app controls do not cover.
Per-category detail
Workouts, routines, metrics, photos, settings
Stored in the app's on-device database and private file storage. You can delete individual records anywhere in the app. Workouts move to Trash first. From Trash you can restore them, delete individual items forever, or empty Trash. To wipe all local Kinoku data at once, uninstall the app or use Android's app storage controls to clear Kinoku's local storage.
Cycle, period, symptom, fertility, pregnancy data
Stored in a dedicated on-device database (kinoku_cycle_db). It is left out of Google's automatic Auto Backup to your Google account. It never reaches Kinoku's servers. To delete:
- In the app: Profile → Wellness → Delete all cycle data. This permanently removes every dedicated period, symptom, BBT, fertility, correlation, and pregnancy record, generated cycle insights, and private one-time prompt state. A private day-level cutoff blocks Health Connect periods beginning on or before deletion (same-day included); a read begun before deletion cannot commit, while genuinely later periods may import. Pregnancy or TTC mode resets to Tracking. Health Connect opt-in, Cycle Tracking, other settings, custom metrics and logs, saved exports, achievements, workouts, and insight mute or feedback choices are preserved.
- Uninstalling the app also wipes this database.
Social Bets (Firestore)
Social Bets is disabled in the current release, so it creates no new shared-bet record. If an earlier enabled build left a Firestore document, it can contain an anonymous Firebase UID, the display alias used for that bet, and its progress number. To request removal:
- Settings → Import & Export → Your Data Rights → Leave all Social Bets. This removes your UID, alias, and progress from every bet you are in. If you were the only participant, the whole bet document is deleted.
- For deletion requests that cannot be done in-app, email privacy@kinoku.app.
- If you uninstall the app without leaving first, your Firestore bet data may stay until it is removed through a later in-app request or a privacy request by email.
Diagnostics (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance)
Off by default. If you opted in at Settings → Help improve Kinoku, data held by Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance is subject to Google's Firebase retention policy. Turning the setting off stops future collection and tells the app to delete unsent crash reports queued on your device. For deletion requests about data Firebase has already received, email privacy@kinoku.app.
Video metadata and voice input
YouTube or Vimeo metadata saved with a routine is part of that local routine record and is removed when you permanently delete the routine or clear Kinoku's app storage. Kinoku does not store raw voice audio. If Android sends voice input to its configured speech provider, or if YouTube or Vimeo receives a metadata request, that provider handles its own request records under its privacy terms. Email privacy@kinoku.app if you need help identifying the relevant boundary.
Website requests
Cloudflare serves kinoku.app and may hold standard request or security logs under its own operational policies. The site sets no analytics cookies and Kinoku does not use those logs for product analytics. For a privacy request concerning a website visit, email privacy@kinoku.app with the date, approximate time, and IP address if you know it.
Google Play Billing
Google Play holds subscription records, not Kinoku. Manage your subscription (cancel, refund) through Google Play → Subscriptions. Kinoku cannot delete records held by Google Play. The local billing cache inside Kinoku is removed when you clear app storage or uninstall. Failed purchase-acknowledgement tokens, if any, are local-only and removed after the refund window.
Gift codes and promo access
Gift-code redemption is disabled in the current release. Legacy redemption records may remain under the retention rules in the Privacy Policy. Friends-and-family promo access uses Firebase Remote Config and an on-device derived device code that you may choose to share with support. These flows do not include workout, health, cycle, route, or photo data. For access or deletion requests, email privacy@kinoku.app.
Android Auto Backup
If Android system backup is turned on for your device, encrypted copies of eligible main-app data (workouts, photos, settings, and user-created metrics) sit in your personal Google account, not in Kinoku's infrastructure. Dedicated raw cycle and pregnancy records, generated cycle state, and Cycle Tracking configuration are excluded from future Android automatic cloud backup. A manual ZIP or user-initiated device transfer can carry the dedicated database. To delete backup copies, use your device's Settings → Google → Backup controls.
GDPR / UK-GDPR / CCPA / MHMDA requests
You may want to use a right under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, or withdrawal of consent), UK-GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA, or the Washington My Health My Data Act. If the in-app controls above do not cover your case, email privacy@kinoku.app. Kinoku will respond within 30 days.
