Honest answers

Frequently asked.

#01 Is Kinoku really 100% offline? +
Your training record stays on your phone. That means workouts, sets, routines, routes, photos, and cycle data. A few parts do use the network. Those are Google Play billing, Social Bets, gift and promo codes, opt-in crash reports, optional run weather, cloud speech if Android needs it, and map tiles.
#02 Do I need an account? +
No. There is no signup. I do not ask for your email, phone number, or a Google login. You install the app and start logging.
#03 How do I move my data to a new phone? +
Two ways. Android backup can carry your Kinoku data to a new phone. The app also has a manual ZIP export and restore, so you can move a copy yourself.
#04 Can I import from FitNotes, Strong, or Hevy? +
Yes. The built-in importer reads CSV files from FitNotes, Strong, and Hevy. It rebuilds your exercises, routines, and workout history inside Kinoku.
#05 Does Kinoku work with Health Connect? +
Yes. Kinoku can read and write steps, weight, body data, sleep, HRV, heart rate, and workouts. You pick which data the app can use inside Health Connect.
#06 What about Wear OS? +
There is a real Wear OS app, not just a notification mirror. It tracks workouts, runs, and steps. It has tiles and complications, and it syncs back to your phone.
#07 Is the AI Coach actually AI? +
Yes, and it runs on your phone. It spots patterns in your data. It is not a cloud chatbot. Free users get Today's Focus and Weekly Recap. Pro adds Active Alerts plus run and exercise tips. Elite adds the Patterns layer and more exercise tips.
#08 How much does Pro cost? +
Google Play sets the price, so it shifts by region. In the US, Pro is $39.99 a year and Elite is $69.99 a year. Monthly is the lighter option. Elite Lifetime is a one-time buy, but it sits in the background, not as the main pick.
#09 Can I try Pro before paying? +
Yes. The Rewards system can give you paid access for a while when you log often. You get to use the deeper planning and coach tools with your own data first.
#10 What does Elite add on top of Pro? +
Elite adds the deeper analysis layer. That covers the analytics hub, the Coach Patterns engine, readiness, auto set tuning, weight tips, cycle links, smart step goals, and unlimited programs with a custom model.
#11 What's the refund policy? +
Google Play handles billing. Refunds inside the Google Play window are automatic. Outside that window, email support@kinoku.app and I will reply in person.
#12 Why no iPhone version? +
One person builds Kinoku, and Android was the right first step. It fits the deep options, Health Connect, and system links the app needs.
#13 Is the app open source? +
Not right now. The privacy comes from how the app works, not from public code. The core training record stays on your phone, and the app skips network calls it does not need.
#14 Who built Kinoku? +
One developer in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The company is a Bulgarian EOOD. There is no funding and no growth team.
#15 How do I report a bug or request a feature? +
Email support@kinoku.app or use the form on the support page. I usually reply in a day or two.
#16 What languages does the app support? +
Eight. English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, and Korean. Units start from your locale, and you can change them in settings.
#17 Can I hide features I don't use? +
Yes, within what the app offers today. You can switch themes, tune the motion feel, manage scenes, toggle Daily Pulse and Smart Today, set up navigation, pick your units and locale, and build your own metrics.
#18 What if I do not like a default? +
Email hello@kinoku.app and tell me what feels wrong and why. Many Kinoku settings exist because a real user asked for one.
