What are form guides?

Each exercise can keep its own YouTube form videos. Copy a video's link and tap Save video, or share the video from the YouTube app to Kinoku.

A form guide is a video you keep on an exercise so you can watch it again before a set. On the exercise screen, open the ⋮ menu and tap Exercise info, where the buttons along the top include YouTube, which searches YouTube for that move.

To save a video, copy its link in YouTube, then come back and tap Save video, which saves it in one tap. If no link is copied, Save video opens a short form where you can type or paste a link instead. When you come back from YouTube with a new link copied, the Save video button lights up. To do that, Kinoku looks only at when something was copied and whether it may be a link, and it reads the link itself only when you tap.

You can also share the video from the YouTube app to Kinoku. If you searched from that exercise in the last 30 minutes, Kinoku offers to save the video there, next to a button for choosing another exercise. That reminder stays on your phone.

A saved video shows as a small picture you can tap, both on the info sheet and on the workout screen, and the Video button plays it. The pictures load from YouTube, so they follow the Fetch video metadata switch. You find it in Settings, under Import & Export and then Network & Privacy. Kinoku does not check the videos you save, so a qualified coach is the best judge of your form.
