What is the rest timer?

The rest timer counts down your break between sets. While it runs, a small bar above the bottom navigation keeps it in view on other screens.

The rest timer counts down your break between sets. While it runs, a small bar sits just above the bottom navigation on every screen except the exercise screen, which has a timer of its own. The bar has buttons to add 10 seconds, to pause or resume, and to stop the timer, and a tap on its label takes you back to your workout.

The timer runs as a background service, so it keeps counting when you leave the app. With the Smart Rest Timer switch on, it starts by itself each time you complete a set.

The length comes from the first of these that has a value: the routine’s rest for that set, a rest time saved on the exercise, your default rest timer, the scene’s rest, and then one minute. A scene with rest turned off turns the timer off.

A rest time saved on one exercise is a Pro feature, and you set it in the exercise editor under Rest timer. The default rest timer, which covers every exercise without its own time, is free.
