What it is

Pulse is one number from 0 to 100. You can glance at it each morning to see how your body is doing. It blends three parts of your data into that one number:

  • Training (45%): how much you lift and run, how hard, and how often
  • Wellness (30%): sleep, HRV, soreness, mood, and stress (whatever you log)
  • Health (25%): signals from Health Connect like weight, body fat, and resting heart rate

HRV means heart rate variability. It is the tiny gaps between your heartbeats. It can hint at how rested you are.

Missing a part? Pulse moves the weight to the parts you do track. Your score does not drop just because data is thin. Skip HRV, for example, and Pulse leans more on Training and Wellness. It says so on screen.

How to read it

You choose what to do with each state. Pulse just shows the read.

Why it’s different

Many fitness apps give you a “readiness” score and hide the math. Pulse shows the parts, the weights, and the reason for each state. Tap any part to see which inputs moved it. There is no hidden formula here.

Like the rest of Kinoku, Pulse runs on your phone. Your wellness data never goes to a Kinoku server.

Daily insights

Next to the score, Pulse adds a short note about your day. One might read: “Your HRV has dropped 12% over the last 3 days. An easy session could help.”
