How does the warmup generator work?

It builds warmup sets at about 50, 60, 70 and 80 percent of your working weight, with 12, 8, 5 and 3 reps, and adds them in one tap.

The warmup generator builds a short ramp of lighter sets that leads up to your working weight. On a weighted exercise with no sets logged yet, an Add Warmup Sets chip shows above the set list. Tap it and check the working weight and the bar weight, and a preview lists the sets before you add them.

The ramp uses about 50, 60, 70 and 80 percent of your working weight, with 12, 8, 5 and 3 reps. Each weight is rounded to your weight step for that kind of equipment and never drops below the empty bar. When two sets round to the same weight, only one is kept. If your working weight is no more than one and a half times the bar, you get a single set of 10 with the empty bar.

The chip follows the Warmup Suggestion switch in Settings under Workout Experience, and the same switch sits in Screen settings on the exercise screen.

Warmup Generator for a 100 kg working weight on a 20 kg bar, ramping through 50 kg × 12, 60 kg × 8, 70 kg × 5, and 80 kg × 3.
