Do my runs count toward the Muscle Map?
Mostly no. A run adds no muscle volume and does not change Intensity or Recovery, but the Frequency view counts it as a session for your legs.
Mostly no. The Muscle Map’s Intensity view counts weight training only, and so do Volume Landmarks, the Pro weekly set ranges for each muscle, while the Recovery view counts every kind of training except cardio. A GPS run, walk or bike ride adds no volume to any muscle, since a run has no weight in kilograms to count. Its distance would also swamp the leg bars.
The one place a run shows is the Frequency view, which counts how many sessions hit each muscle. There a run counts as a session for the muscles the Running exercise lists, such as your quads, calves, glutes and hamstrings. If you tag muscles yourself after a cardio session, those tags count toward recovery as well, marked as self-reported.
Your runs show up in full in Run Analytics and your Kinoku Score, and they feed your Training form on the Coach screen. Giving cardio its own load on the body map is on our public roadmap, but for now a hard run does not change how recovered your legs look.
